Monday was the first harvest for the 2010 CSA! It seems to have snuck up on me fast this year. It is always a full day of picking vegetables and I was glad to have one of the CSA work shareholders, Sara, helping out. We picked 18 shares worth of salad greens, strawberries, spinach and chard; 2 more shares will be harvested for Thursday pick up totaling 20 shares for this season. The bags are a little bit light this week, they normally will contain 6 items. We're still waiting for the peas and the spring onions to size up, which should be by next week. Don't worry, CSA members, this void will be filled in midsummer when we are swimming in warm season goodies like tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, etc. But for now, enjoy the greens!
